Abstract

|
The kinetics of the reaction of [Mo3O4(H2O)9]4+ with VO2+ have been studied at 25℃ by spectrophotometric method. With VO2+ in excess, the [Mo3O4(H2O)9]4+ reaction can be expressed as MoⅣ3 + 6VⅤ ↔ 3MoⅥ + 6VⅣ. Observed rate constants for the reaction are dependent on [H+] and [VO2+]. Mechanism for the redox of [Mo3O4(H2O)9]4+ and VO2+ is proposed and discussed.
